Aaron Lacy is a fine art photographer that was born in Canton Ohio, grew up in central California, and splits his time between Los Angeles, California and Houston, Texas. Having worked in electrical engineering, he has always possessed expert knowledge of the mechanics of light. In fact, “light” the first word he ever uttered. Aaron primarily works in black + white and masterfully controls light to create depth and shadow often giving the appearance that time has frozen in exquisitely focused, suspended reality. African American women are typically at the center of his art, and his work is heavily inspired by the fluidity of the female form. His work has been featured in many galleries, and he won the “Best in Show” award at the Mnemonic Exhibition at H Gallery in 2018. His work is enigmatic and precise and can be found in private collections around the country.
